Role with competitive salary and benefits Part time position (3-5 days work, school hours, term breaks) Casual positions Reporting to the Manager Student & Family Counselling, you will be providing therapeutic counselling to students and families, including consulting with school staff regarding student welfare and classroom issues. In addition, there may be opportunities to provide group work to students around particular issues. Student & Family Program meetings are held weekly. This provides an opportunity to meet with and consult with your peers, attend professional development and contribute to review of policies and procedures. There are positions available in the ACT and NSW schools. These positions are part-time (3 - 5 days per week during school terms) and looking to start immediately. Ideal person The ideal person we are looking for has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, with AHPRA Registration or Social Work with Eligible for Membership with AASW.
  • Counselling experience or knowledge of counseling skills, particularly in relation to issues facing children, young people and families,
  • Ability to liaise effectively with and provide consultation to school staff and to promote the service to the school community,
  • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations and to students presenting with complex issues,
You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check. To be considered for this role you will be also required to hold:
  • a current drivers licence, and
  • a Working with Vulnerable People Card [Only needed for ACT Staff]
  • a Working with Children Check (NSW schools)
