Receptionist & Administrative Officer


This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated and professional administrator, with excellent people skills, to join a passionate and supportive team with the shared purpose of delivering services which will improve the lives of those we support.  

The Role

As the 'face of the agency' and the first point of contact for individuals coming into the office, the receptionist must have exceptional customer service and people skills, along with the ability to remain a calm and composed in a busy environment. Our receptionist role involves typical tasks such as greeting individuals and visitors at reception, managing incoming calls, and maintaining our reception area to a professional state. Receptionist across CatholicCare’s various sites field a high volume of calls, therefore the ability to quickly develop an understanding of CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn and the diverse services we offer is essential. The administrative component of the role involves general administrative tasks including monitoring and restocking stationary, sorting and distributing internal mail, scanning documents, and providing other administration support to the management team. Ideal person

The ideal person we are looking for has:

  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to, determine priorities, multi-task and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience to providing quality service to those who are vulnerable within our community. Preferably with experience working in the disability or community sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deescalate individuals who may become heightened.
  • Advanced Computer Literacy levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work both within a team environment and independently
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage change

You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check. To be considered for this role you will be also required to hold:

  • a current driver’s licence, and
  • a Working with Vulnerable People Card and registration with the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Worker Screening
