The MINOSA House Case Worker provides quality residential coordination and Case Management. A core objective of this role is to be proactively engaging and working with six adult men that are homeless – working through a Person-Centred and Strength Based framework, the successful applicant will help each client achieve independent and long-term accommodation.

The successful applicant will need to be able to work with minimal supervision and work effectively within a small team. Expertise in effective time management, administration skills, casework, collaborative engagement, service coordination, information/education, referral and advocacy – are essential.

The Role

Funded by Housing and Community Services, ACT Government Community Services Directorate.

MINOSA (Men In Need Of Support Accommodation) provides supported accommodation for 6 males over the age of 18 years who are experiencing homelessness for up to 3 months. The program empowers residents to gain safe, secure, long term and sustainable tenancies in the ACT community. This is achieved through individualised and client centred case management and an onsite support worker who provides practical assistance to residents such as living skills development including; cooking, cleaning, hygiene, budgeting and accessing community services.

The Ideal person

The ideal candidates we are looking for have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications & experience.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive working autonomously.
  • Demonstrated experience in responding appropriately in crisis situations with adult men.
  • Sound Sector knowledge.
  • Sound written and verbal communication and IT&C skills.
  • Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Work Safety and Confidentiality.

You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check.

To be considered for this role you will be also required to hold:

  • a current drivers licence, and
  • a Working with Vulnerable People Card.
