Clinicians – Multiple Positions in therapeutic Mental Health program

CatholicCare is looking for clinicians to join a new therapeutic mental health counselling service for adults and children. The program is based on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies framework and utilises a CBT model. Through the 12 month training and supervision program, clinicians develop expertise in working within this model. Provisional Psychologists welcome to apply! In launching this new service, CatholicCare has multiple positions available for clinicians to provide therapeutic counselling, utilising a CBT model, to children and adults with a focus on mental health. The Role The key responsibilities for the Mental Health clinician will be to provide therapeutic interventions to children and adults with mental health issues. Clinicians will be required to work from a CBT and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies approach. Staff receive ongoing training and supervision in this model over a 12 month period.   • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Occupational Therapy (plus mental health accreditation endorsing the provision of psychological interventions).
  • Registration with APHRA or Membership with AASW. Provisional registration with APHRA for Psychology Interns.
  • Counselling Experience working in the mental health sector with adults and children with complex needs.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations and to clients presenting with complex issues such as comorbidity and suicide
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and good time management skills
  • Have an understanding of EEO, Work Safety and confidentiality
