Exciting opportunities to work for one of Canberra’s largest community sector organisations. CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn is a leading not-for-profit organisation with a presence in the community for over 60 years providing a range of services. We are looking for enthusiastic Psychologists, and Mental Health Accredited Social Workers or Occupational Therapists to join our team of clinicians. These positions offer variety and work with a broad range of age groups.



The Role


As a casual Mental Health clinicians, you will deliver brief psychological interventions to people presenting to Canberra’s Walk in Centres (WiC) experincing psychological distress. The service aims to provide people with an immediate psychological intervention, reducing their distress and mitigating the need to present to ED. The service which is delivered via telephone or video call is available between the hours of 6:00pm and 10:00pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 7:30am – 10:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Selection Criteria


The ideal person we are looking for has:

  • Qualifications as a Mental Health Clinician including one of the following; 1) Registration with APHRA as a psychologist, both generally registered psychologists and clinical psychologists; Provisional psychologists are eligible to work in certain programs 2) Social Workers eligible for AASW membership 3) a Better Access to Mental Health endorsed Occupational Therapists; 4) Counsellors eligible for ACA or PACFA membership.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience providing therapeutic interventions to adults experiencing psychological distress.
  • Commitment to and proficiency delivering evidence-based practice.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and time management skills
