Full time position with competitive salary and benefits

Based in Canberra

Manage a team of highly skilled coaches and mental health clinicians (psychologists, social workers, nurses)

CatholicCare is pioneering an Australian first program called Next Step. The service is growing and we’re looking for a passionate and talented Allied Health Services Manager to join our Next Step Team in Canberra. Overseeing a team of intake officers, coaches, psychologists, social workers and a nurse, you’ll manage the day to day delivery of the Next Step Service, and ensure the provision of high quality services to vulnerable and at times disadvantaged people within the community.

The Role

Your key responsibilities as a manager will include overseeing the day to day management and delivery of the Next Step Service. Based on the Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) initiative in the UK, The Next Step service provides psychological interventions to adults and children experiencing mental health issues. Providing treatments identified in the international Cochrane Reviews as evidence based, the service provides Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) via disorder specific models. Low Intensity Coaches and High Intensity Clinicians participate in a comprehensive, initial 12 month training and supervision programme which allows clinicians to develop significant expertise in working within this framework. As well as ensuring the delivery of high quality, evidence based psychological services, the manager will ensure contractual obligations including KPIs are met and provide support to staff. The role includes working closely with key stakeholders including Capital health Network and the training provider as well as coordinating co-location arrangements. If you would like to work with us to make a positive difference in people’s lives and be a part of our clinical services team, we want to hear from you!
