Mental Health Supported Accommodation for Men – ARAMAC House

Mental Health Supported Accommodation for Men – ARAMAC House

At ARAMAC House, men with severe and enduring mental illnesses, and associated psychosocial disability, are supported to live in shared accommodation within the community, to regain and maintain living skills and to work on their personal recovery.

ARAMAC House is a newly built unit complex made up of 8, 2 bedroom, fully furnished units.

Each unit has a spacious kitchen, dining and living area, and an enclosed outdoor area. Each unit also has a carport and storage unit.

One of the 8 units is utilised as a community space and is a base for group activities and for sharing meals and social time together. This unit has a staff sleepover room to support the men with overnight support during periods of mental ill health.

Residents are required to contribute towards a tariff which covers the cost of rent, utilities and groceries.

Support is provided by Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn’s CHOICES personal assistants and is funded through the individuals NDIS Plan, therefore individuals must have adequate funding in their core supports to sustain living independently.

Staff are on site from 8am – 7pm each day to support residents with meal preparation (including shopping for groceries), medication, maintaining their home, maintaining health and wellbeing, personal self-care, grooming and hygiene, engaging with the community.
