STEPS – Supporting young people Through Early intervention and Prevention Strategies

Are you a young person, or parent of a young person aged 13-18?

Are you experiencing moderate to severe symptoms of mental illness and require support but not hospitalisation?

Are you about to exit hospital but not quite ready to return home?

Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn STEPS is a voluntary Mental Health residential program providing support to young people for a period of up to 3 months. The program is staffed 24/7 by Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn’s Youth Mental Health Support Workers and a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Clinical Worker during business hours.

Young people participate in a range of social and therapeutic activities through a combination of case management & clinical support.  The program assists residents to develop skills and resources to manage mental health and emotional wellbeing in the future.

Referrals for this program are managed by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
